comprehensive epilepsy care
From first seizure to long-term management, every service under one roof.
SERVICE OFFERINGS
Epilepsy looks different in every person who lives with it. The cause, the seizure type, the treatment history, the life it intersects with: all of it shapes what good care actually requires. At Sonoran Epilepsy, we offer the full range of subspecialty services because real epilepsy management doesn’t fit a single template.
Seizure Evaluation + Diagnosis
From a first seizure workup to complex, medication-resistant cases, Sonoran Epilepsy offers the diagnostic tools and treatment expertise to move your care forward.
EEG Studies
Routine and ambulatory EEG testing to characterize seizure activity and inform treatment.
Neurological Consultations
Comprehensive first-seizure evaluations, diagnostic workups, and ongoing management for patients at every stage of their epilepsy journey.
Neurostimulation
Programming and management for VNS, RNS, and DBS devices, for patients whose care extends beyond medication.
Medication Management
With more than thirty anti-seizure medications available, the right choice depends on far more than seizure type. We take into account lifestyle, concurrent medications, and personal goals to find a regimen that targets seizure control without compromising quality of life.
Patient & Family Education
Knowledge is one of the most powerful tools a person with epilepsy has. We provide seizure first-aid training, driving and safety counseling, pregnancy and contraception guidance for people with epilepsy, and SUDEP awareness education for patients and the people who support them.
Telehealth Visits
Follow-up care, medication reviews, and ongoing management are available via virtual appointment for eligible patients statewide. No commute required.
Referral Coordination
When evaluation points toward advanced workup or surgical candidacy, we coordinate directly with epilepsy monitoring units, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, and other specialists. You stay informed at every step.
TREATMENT PATHWAYS
MEDICATION
No two cases of epilepsy are the same, so no two treatment plans should be. We weigh each patient’s seizure cause, lifestyle, beliefs, and other medications, then choose a path together. With more than thirty anti-seizure medications available, most patients reach seizure freedom and go on to live full lives.
DRUG-RESISTANT EPILEPSY
A fraction of patients will continue to experience seizures even while treated with two or more anti-seizure medications — this is called “drug-resistant epilepsy”. Medication will often still reduce seizure frequency, duration, or severity, and control is still possible.
